This easy Annapurna trek offers jaw-dropping mountain views, diverse culture, and a memorable sunrise experience from Poon Hill, one of the most popular viewpoints in Nepal.

The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is the highlight of this route, where trekkers can witness the golden sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The trail passes through rhododendron forests, traditional Gurung and Magar villages, and terraced farmlands. With a maximum elevation of just over 3,210 meters at Poon Hill, the Annapurna Panorama Trek is ideal for those looking for a short Annapurna trek that doesn't require previous trekking experience.

Accommodation and Food on Annapurna Panorama Trek

During the Annapurna Panorama Trek, accommodation is mainly in locally run teahouses and guesthouses. These are comfortable and clean, offering twin-sharing rooms with basic facilities like warm blankets, pillows, and sometimes hot showers (at an extra cost). While the rooms are simple, the warm hospitality of the local Gurung and Magar families makes the stay memorable.

Food is served at the teahouses, with a wide variety of meals available. The menu usually includes traditional Nepali dishes like dal bhat (rice, lentils, and vegetables), as well as international options such as pasta, noodles, momo (dumplings), pancakes, soups, and eggs. Hot drinks like tea, coffee, and ginger lemon honey are commonly available. All meals are freshly prepared, hygienic, and vegetarian-friendly.

Best Time to Do the Annapurna Panorama Trek

The best time to trek Annapurna Panorama is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. These months offer the clearest mountain views, stable weather, and blooming rhododendron forests in spring. Autumn is ideal for crisp air, dry trails, and excellent visibility of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.

While the trek can be done year-round, winter (December to February) brings colder temperatures and occasional snow, while summer/monsoon (June to August) can cause slippery trails and leech problems due to rainfall.

How difficult is the Annapurna Panorama Trek?

The Annapurna Panorama Trek is considered easy to moderate in difficulty. It’s ideal for beginners, families with children, and travelers who want a short yet rewarding Himalayan trek. Daily walking hours range from 4 to 6 hours with some uphill sections, especially while hiking to Poon Hill (3,210m).

No prior trekking experience or technical skills are required, making it one of the best short treks in Nepal for all fitness levels. With proper pacing, rest, and guidance, almost anyone can complete this trek comfortably.
