Itinerary
Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Barpak Village (1,900m) Distance Approx. 145 km Drive Duration 8–10 Hours
Your adventure begins with an early morning drive from Kathmandu to the historic village of Barpak in the Gorkha region. The scenic journey follows winding mountain roads, passing terraced farmlands, rivers, and traditional settlements. Barpak is known as the birthplace of the famous Gurkha soldiers and offers magnificent views of Ganesh Himal and the surrounding peaks. Upon arrival, explore the village, interact with residents, and experience authentic Gurung culture. Overnight stay at a local lodge in Barpak.
Day 2: Trek from Barpak to Mamche (2,800m) Distance Approx. 12 km Duration 6–7 Hours
The trail gradually climbs through dense forests, traditional villages, and cultivated hillsides. As you leave Barpak behind, the landscape becomes increasingly remote and peaceful. The route offers stunning views of the Budhi Gandaki Valley and distant Himalayan ranges. Passing through small settlements and grazing areas, you eventually reach Mamche, a beautiful highland campsite surrounded by alpine vegetation. Today's trek continues through rhododendron forests and open meadows. The route steadily ascends toward the higher grazing lands used by local herders during the summer months. Spectacular views of Ganesh Himal, Boudha Himal, and Shringi Himal begin to dominate the skyline. Lambra Kharka is a peaceful pastureland offering a wonderful wilderness experience far from crowded trekking routes. The campsite provides breathtaking sunset views over the surrounding Himalayan landscape.
Day 4: Trek from Lambra Kharka to Mircha Khola (3,300m) Distance Approx. 11 km Duration 6–7 Hours
Leaving the alpine meadows behind, the trail traverses rugged terrain with dramatic mountain scenery. You cross several ridges and seasonal streams while gaining gradual elevation. The journey passes through untouched wilderness, where occasional sightings of Himalayan wildlife are possible. Mircha Khola is located beside a glacial stream and serves as an important resting point before approaching Rupina La Pass. Enjoy the peaceful environment and prepare for higher elevations ahead.
Day 5: Trek from Mircha Khola to Rupina La Base Camp (3,400m) Distance Approx. 8 km Duration 4–5 Hours
The trek today is relatively shorter, allowing your body to adapt to increasing altitude. The route follows rocky paths and high alpine terrain toward Rupina La Base Camp. As you ascend, panoramic views of snow-covered peaks become increasingly spectacular. Towering mountains surround the campsite and offer a true wilderness atmosphere. Spend the afternoon resting, acclimatizing, and preparing for the challenging pass crossing the following day.
Day 6: Cross Rupina La Pass (4,720m) and Trek to Myachet (3,800m) Distance Approx. 14 km Duration 8–10 Hours
This is one of the most exciting and demanding days of the trek. An early morning ascent leads to Rupina La Pass, one of Nepal's most remote and dramatic Himalayan crossings. From the summit, enjoy extraordinary views of Manaslu, Himalchuli, Ganesh Himal, and numerous surrounding peaks. After celebrating your achievement, descend carefully through steep glacial terrain toward Myachet. The long day rewards trekkers with unforgettable mountain panoramas and a true sense of adventure.

Along the way, enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding ridges and valleys. Chongchet is a small seasonal settlement used by local herders. Day 8: Trek from Chongchet to Sherang Kharka (3,050m) Distance Approx. 12 km Duration 5–6 Hours
Today's route follows remote mountain trails through forests, meadows, and traditional grazing lands. Sherang Kharka is a large pasture surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery and serves as an important junction connecting the Rupina La route with the Manaslu region. Day 9: Trek from Sherang Kharka to Ngyak (2,200m) Distance Approx. 15 km Duration 6–7 Hours
The trail descends through forests of pine, juniper, and rhododendron while entering the culturally rich Nubri Valley. You begin encountering Tibetan-influenced villages and traditional Buddhist culture. Colorful prayer flags, chortens, and mani walls decorate the route. Ngyak is a charming settlement where trekkers can experience local hospitality and observe daily life in the Himalayan region.
Day 10: Trek from Ngyak to Namrung (2,630m) Distance Approx. 13 km Duration 5–6 Hours
The trek joins the classic Manaslu Circuit Trail. Following the Budhi Gandaki River, the route passes beautiful forests and traditional villages. Samagaon is one of the largest villages in the region and serves as an important cultural and acclimatization center for trekkers.
Day 12: Acclimatization Day in Samagaon (3,360m) Distance Optional 6–8 km Hike Duration 3–5 Hours
A rest and acclimatization day helps your body adjust to the higher altitude. Optional excursions include a hike to Birendra Lake or viewpoints near Manaslu Base Camp. These short hikes offer spectacular views of glaciers, icefalls, and towering mountain peaks. Day 13: Trek from Samagaon to Samdo (3,690m) Distance Approx. 8 km Duration 3–4 Hours

Samdo is a traditional Tibetan refugee settlement with remarkable mountain views. Day 14: Trek from Samdo to Larkya Phedi (4,460m) Distance Approx. 7 km Duration 4–5 Hours
Today's trek is relatively short but involves significant altitude gain. The trail climbs steadily through glacial valleys and rugged mountain terrain. Larkya Phedi, also known as Dharmasala, serves as the final stop before crossing Larkya La Pass. Spend the afternoon resting, hydrating, and preparing for the highest point of the trek.
Day 15: Cross Larkya La Pass (5,135m) and Trek to Bimthang (3,590m) Distance Approx. 16 km Duration 8–10 Hours
An early start takes you toward the magnificent Larkya La Pass, one of Nepal's most spectacular trekking passes. The summit offers breathtaking views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II. The trail descends through beautiful rhododendron forests, meadows, and traditional villages. As the altitude decreases, warmer temperatures and lush vegetation return. Cross several suspension bridges and enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. Tilije is a welcoming Gurung village where trekkers can celebrate the successful completion of the high mountain crossings.
Day 17: Trek from Tilije to Dharapani (1,860m) Distance Approx. 8 km Duration 3–4 Hours
The final trekking day follows a pleasant trail through forests and cultivated farmland. The route joins sections of the famous Annapurna Circuit before reaching Dharapani.
